The Story So Far
My name is Natalie Tennant, I have an amazing husband who is always supportive of me and my many dreams and he is my partner in Maaiki. I became a first time mom in February 2021 to our little girl Katinka and I am the proud owner of Maaiki since December 2020.
I was lucky enough to have met Marlé Prinsloo when I had taken over Petit Bébé Pretoria at the end of 2017 and Maaiki was one of Petit Bébé’s Suppliers. Marlé worked really hard to create a beautiful brand using quality South African made fabrics, a family run CMT and she had stunning prints designed which make Maaiki’s range of premium baby basics an absolutely stunning brand to own.
I’m a South African that is currently living in neighbouring Eswatini, and the plan since Petit Bébé/Kapokkie was to manufacture my own baby & kids range. Even before this stage I had always wanted to make a range of Kids clothes, and now I am finally fulfilling this dream through Maaiki ♡
Where to Next
I learnt very quickly that parenting is by no means an easy feat, which is why it has taken me two years to get going with this gorgeous little brand, my beautiful little girl is now 2 and attending a playgroup in the mornings so now in 2023, new patterns are being drafted as we speak with a new lovely CMT and I cannot wait to reveal all the new styles we will be manufacturing.
